CitiesEgypt used to be known as a "civilization without cities" but that has now been proved otherwise by in insightful archaeologists. Settlement excavations gave proof to past towns and cities that date back to 3500 BCE. The cities were known as regional capitals that connected to smaller towns which made up large administrative districts. These "cities" were not anymore near as developed as they are now in present day. We don't know many facts or common knowledge of Egypt's past cities because of the way many remains were hidden. As settlements crumpled away, they would begin to build a new one right on top of the rubble due to lack of space for good building sites. An ancient Egyptian city known as Heliopolis currently remains underneath the current city of Luxor. Making remains inaccessible to research and archaeologists alike.
